It might still feel like summer break just started, but if you’re a parent of a student heading to Purdue University or Indiana University this fall, it’s already time to start planning for August move-in. With thousands of students arriving over a short window of time, transportation fills up fast—especially for airport transfers and direct travel from cities like Chicago or Indianapolis.
Whether your student is participating in early arrival programs or moving into the dorms for the first time, booking transportation ahead of time can help avoid the last-minute stress. GO Express Travel offers airport shuttle service, shared ride options, and private car service to both campuses to make move-in day a little easier.

Both provide scheduled service directly to campus. For a more personalized ride—especially for students bringing extra bags or arriving with family—our private black car service offers a direct, door-to-door option.
Indiana University Move-In Dates – August 2025
Indiana University follows a similar staggered schedule for student move-in:
-
Early arrival students in special programs, including international students, athletes, and the Marching Hundred, will move in on August 4, 10, or 15 depending on the group.
-
Students in summer housing will transition on August 4.
-
The majority of incoming first-year students move in between August 19 and 20.
-
Returning students will also begin arriving on August 19.
IU encourages all students to arrive by Wednesday night (August 20) to attend floor meetings and kick off orientation activities. For the latest move-in updates, check IU’s Residential Programs and Services.
Students flying into Indianapolis can take our Bloomington Airport Shuttle to campus. And just like with Purdue, we offer black car service for families or students who prefer a private ride and direct arrival.
Why Booking Early Matters
August is one of the busiest months of the year in Bloomington and West Lafayette. Flights get booked, hotel rooms fill up, and shuttle seats disappear quickly—especially around peak move-in weekends.
By booking now, you can reserve the exact travel date and time that works best for your student’s arrival. It also gives you one less thing to worry about as move-in day approaches. Whether you’re looking for a shared ride shuttle or private transportation, GO Express Travel helps students and families arrive on campus comfortably and on time.
Plan ahead, book early, and start the school year off right.
